Sam McGee "from Tennessee"

Sam McGee is an all-aluminum, well-suited, fast and comfortable HewesCraft fishing vessel. It has a spacious cabin with seating for six and protection from the elements. It is powered by a Honda 130 four-stroke and a Honda 9.9 four-stroke kicker for trolling.

Outfitted with cutting edge electronics and topnotch gear like Scotty electric downriggers, Furuno Navnet Combination Radar/GPS/Sounder, and Furuno GP 1850-F Sounder/Chart-plotter, we are ready to catch fish. Also, the design of our boat makes it easy to beach for a stroll through the Tongass National Forest or some fantastic tide pool exploration.

She is skippered by Captain Tab McNabb, a seasoned fisherman with years of experience guiding on the waters surrounding Ketchikan. He is also an outdoor educator and naturalist who has worked with world-renowned oceanographers like Jean-Michel Cousteau and Dr. Richard Murphy from PBS’s Ocean Adventures. Captain Tab holds a 50 Ton Masters Near Coastal USCG license. He is a former high school English teacher and basketball coach.
